The fact that Triple H listens to his talent is the reason why WWE is experiencing a heyday right now. Recently, current SmackDown star Shotzi accounted for Hunter’s brilliant gesture that enabled the 31-year-old to pay tribute to her cancer-battling sister. While speaking to Wrestling News, Shotzi discussed what led to the major change in her character.
The Santa Clara-based wrestler underwent an overhaul in her physical appearance when she shaved her hair off live on SmackDown. At the time, she was in a feud with Bayley. Many fans initially protested against WWE’s move to take Shotzi’s hair off, as they believed it would destroy her character. However, rather than a creative move, the WWE superstar requested the change herself, as she directly asked Triple H to implement it.
The WWE CCO didn’t take long to carve Shotzi’s real-life cause into a storyline, as requested by her only. She simply wanted to resonate with her sister, who’s on chemotherapy and had her hair lost as a result. By doing so, Shotzi achieved what she wanted. Needless to say, it was something for which she’d forever be grateful to Triple H. Hunter didn’t deny the idea and instead turned it into a storyline.
I went to [Triple H] and I was like, ‘Hey, my sister is going through chemo and I want to support her. I want to be there for her. I want to shave my head off, too. Can we please make it a part of a storyline, so I don’t just show up one day with no hair?Shotzi on Triple H via Wrestling News
Triple H once pulled out all the stops for Shotzi
Back in August 2020, when Shotzi was still on NXT, her car got stolen one night. The vehicle had her wrestling gear bag and the TCB helmet, which was of utmost importance to her. However, as soon as Triple H and co. got to know about the tragedy, he instantly asked his men to produce a brand new helmet for Shotzi’s upcoming matches back then in WWE.
Thankfully, the car was recovered by the local police, and her wrestling accouterments were intact. But, giving major props to Triple H and the NXT team, Shotzi took to social media to share the story. The helmet that almost got away from her was something she could’ve never imagined losing.
It was there on the wall while she was at her first wrestling school. The owners let her take the helmet once she started with WWE. Therefore, when Triple H produced a replica of the same, Shotzi was floored and felt indebted. It meant the world to her and she expressed her gratitude to The Game.
