Summerslam is WWE’s one of the most anticipated PPVs of the year. Dubbed as the biggest party of the summer, the premium live event has been going on for around 35 years and has become a landmark event since then. This year marked the 35th anniversary of the PPV and was held in Nashville, Tennessee. A jam-packed card with matches involving the top names of the company and stars from outside the world of wrestling as well.

Held at the Nissan Stadium, the event pulled off around 50,000 people in attendance. Fans described this year’s Summerslam as one of the best PPVs in recent memory. The event saw some unexpected moments such as the return of Bayley, IYO SKY, and Dakota Kai, setting the start straight, right from the bat. Matches like Logan Paul vs The Miz and Pat McAfee vs Happy Corbin acted as huge crowd pullers and were a visual spectacle instead of just being mid-card matches and exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Summerslam took place on 29 July at Nissan Stadium at Nashville, Tennessee

The Tag Team match between The Judgment Day and The Mysterios which was inserted at the end also saw “The Brood” Edge making his return. And then came the main event, the final showdown between the two biggest names in the company, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar locked horns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. The match saw Lesnar bringing a tractor to the ring before toppling the ring using the same tractor.

Even after doing everything in his power to stop Reigns, The Tribal Chief emerged as the winner after he and the Usos literally buried Lesnar to win the match. Overall, it can be said that Summerslam 2022 was a huge success in terms of programming and booking. But now in a latest press release, WWE Chairwoman and Co-CEO Stephanie McMahon revealed that this year’s Summerslam became the most-watched Summerslam of all time.

While she didn’t reveal how many people watched it on live streaming services such as Peacock and WWE Network, it was revealed that a total of 48,449 fans attended the event at The Nissan Stadium. In the same press release, Stephanie also revealed that the official Youtube channel of WWE has crossed 90 million subscribers and boasts of a lifetime views of over 70 billion. The press release also talked about WWE’s upcoming partnership with Epic Games’ free-to-play game Fall Guys. She ended the note by thanking the WWE Universe for turning up in huge numbers and thanked the sponsors for making the event a massive success.
