Former AEW Tag Team Champion Swerve Strickland is considered to be one of the most underutilized talents on any roster. Fans were shocked when WWE released him last year. However, he soon joined AEW, where he has been regularly featured and has also had respectable appearances in the main event-level feuds. However, the 32-year-old feels that he is dedicated to even greater things in AEW.

While talking to Uproxx Sports, Swerve said that WWE made a big mistake by firing him. According to him, he is now bigger than he would have ever been in the WWE. Strickland said, “[Getting fired from WWE] was one of the biggest mistakes you made, but you can’t have it back now. I’m creating something that’s even bigger than what you expected of me over there.”

Strickland was the leader of Hit Row, a faction that debuted on the main roster only to be released a few weeks later. In early 2022, Swerve signed a deal with AEW and has been working for the company ever since. The most memorable part of his run until now has been his tag team championship reign with Keith Lee. Swerve would turn on Lee, breaking up the beloved team.

On the go-home episode of AEW Dynamite before All In, Swerve Strickland pulled a swerve on his partner for the event on Sunday. After losing a match to Nick Wayne and Darby Allin, Swerve turned on AR Fox and said that because he lost the match, he was fired from the Mogul Embassy. Instead, he already has a replacement for Fox as his partner for All In.

As Swerve stood on the ramp with Brian Cage and Prince Nana, Christian Cage and Luchasauras came out to thunderous boos. Swerve announced that Cage will be teaming up with him instead of AR Fox, as his chances of winning have exponentially increased now. The changes were then made official, as Sting and Darby Allin will now face Strickland and Cage at the event.

The match will be a coffin match and will be the biggest match in the careers of all the men involved, as no other company in the industry has ever seen a crowd this big. Therefore, the anticipation for the event is high among the fans and the wrestlers alike. Multiple dream matches have been announced for the event, which has fans excited for the event.
