The Undertaker is one of the greatest WWE superstars ever to grace the squared circle. The Undertaker is one of the most well-known sports figures of all time, and in his 30-year career, Taker has consistently been a huge component for the company. Due to his outstanding accomplishments and illustrious career, he is also one of the most revered superstars in the wrestling world today.

The Undertaker hung up his boots in 2020, with his last match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36. Taker was inducted into the Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 38 weekend in his home state of Texas. The Hall of Ceremony featured the who’s who of sports entertainment, and rightly so.

While some people important to him were present at the ceremony, some were absent; and former SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long was one of them. Teddy Long and The Undertaker had a very unique relationship as Teddy mercilessly punished heels with a one on one match with The Undertaker.

During a recent appearance on SK wrestling One on One, Teddy Long stated that it wasn’t his call, and it was up to the WWE to invite him or not, and he doesn’t care that they didn’t want him there.

“Well, that’s not my call, you know. I don’t know who was in charge of all that. I’m pretty sure at that time, Laurinaitis was there for sure. Like I said, not my call. I couldn’t understand it either, but like I said, that belongs to them, and I don’t worry about if they don’t want me, then they don’t want me. It’s just that simple,”

The Former SmackDown General Manager has managed names such as Bobby Eaton, 2 Cold Scorpio, and Ron Simmons & Butch Reed as a tag team. Teddy Long was also The Undertaker’s manager in the late 1980s, during his early days in WCW. This was long before the WWE Hall of Famer became The Undertaker.

Long managed the Undertaker when he was Mean Mark Callous. While speaking to the MuscleManMalcolm YouTube channel in August this year, he revealed Vince McMahon inspired him to put an impact into announcing Taker.

He once overheard Vince telling someone that he wants his stars to mean something when they are introduced. Long said that he did what he had heard, and thankfully, the Undertaker and Vince loved it.

“This is really the truth. One time I was sitting down and we was talking to Vince. Vince wasn’t really talking to me. He was talking to somebody else and they went on and they introduced somebody. Vince stopped him and he said ‘No, you have to make my stars mean something when you introduce him.’ I heard that and that’s all I did. The Undertaker and Vince liked it. So that came from me.”
