The legendary Undertaker has been part of some of the most iconic matches in WWE history. One of those matches was his show-stealing battle against his arch rival Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 25. Recently, the Phenom expressed his disappointment over the bout not getting a 5-star rating from wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer.
The Deadman spoke on his Six Feet Under podcast about the classic and revealed that he never cared much about match ratings. However, he felt that his match with Shawn Michaels should’ve received 5 stars from Meltzer. The Undertaker soon realized he had made a mistake by saying that and regretted his words. He hilariously requested to cut that part out because he didn’t want to give the veteran journalist any credit.

Many fans and even WWE superstars have often criticized Meltzer for his contrasting ratings of various matches. He gave a 4.75 star rating to the match between Taker and Michaels, which is considered to be one of the greatest WWE matches of all time. The duo went on to have another fantastic match at the next WrestleMania in a ‘Career vs. Streak’ match, which HBK lost and hence, as per the stipulation, retired.
You know me I don’t like to put myself over in those kind of answers but that match was pretty close to……in spite of Dave Meltzer only giving it 4 stars. I don’t remember him taking too many bumps. I don’t really have a lot of stock in what he says. I can’t even believe I just gave him credit. I did say his name & I’m regretting that now. We might have to edit that out.The Undertaker via Six Feet Under podcast
Taker wrestled in his last match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36, where he defeated him in a highly entertaining cinematic match. Although the Deadman felt Meltzer should’ve given the match a 5-star rating, many fans won’t care about his opinion and will always place that match at the top of their all-time favorite list.
The Undertaker showered heavy praise on Paul Heyman and revealed how he helped him in his career
Legendary WWE manager Paul Heyman was recently announced as the first inductee of the 2024 Hall of Fame class. On the Six Feet Under podcast, he expressed his opinion about Heyman’s induction into the Hall of Fame. The Phenom couldn’t stop praising him and said that he absolutely deserved it. He also talked about his managerial work and revealed how he helped him get into WWE.
"He was such an advocate for me in the sense of getting me to Bruce who would eventually get me to Vince and that whole thing but you know, he was a little better off than I was, I wasn't making any money, a lot of times he would just pick up the rental car instead of us splitting it or he would help me out when he could. The Undertaker on Paul Heyman via Six Feet Under podcast
The 59-year-old revealed how Heyman used to rent a car for him because he wasn’t making any money. Heyman also managed then-“Mean” Mark Callous in WCW and played an important role in connecting him to Vince McMahon. Needless to say, he will be all ears for Heyman’s Hall of Fame speech next week in Philadelphia.
