The Undertaker is one of the greatest wrestlers ever to step foot in the ring and is an inspiration for many. He is influential not only in the world of wrestling but even in other sports too. Many sports athletes have mimicked his entrance and his charismatic persona, and most recently, one of them was UFC fighter Michael Venom Page.

On March 9, 2024, the 36-year-old star fought in his debut match against Kevin Holland at UFC 299. By walking out to The Undertaker’s theme song, he made an entrance that fans and he will remember for a lifetime. Fortunately for him, his entrance caught the Deadman’s attention as he gave his reaction on social media.

The WWE Hall of Famer took to X and praised his impressive entrance and congratulated MVP on the win on his debut. He won his bout 29-28 against Holland, as the ‘Trailbrazer’ couldn’t figure out his striking style. This win propelled him into the top 15 in the welterweight rankings after only his first fight.

However, this is not the first time that The Undertaker’s influence has graced other sports. Recently, he made a surprise appearance at the Friendly Cup final game between Al-Nassr FC and Al-Hilal. His last match in WWE was when he wrestled AJ Styles in a thrilling Boneyard Match at WrestleMania 36. Since then, he has made sporadic appearances on television and has started his own YouTube podcast.

Former WWE Superstar Elias reveals match with The Undertaker was scrapped

Elias was one of the biggest heels in 2019, garnering heat from every arena he would appear in. It was ultimately good for him, as it helped him rise up the ranks at the time. At one point, he was even scheduled to have a match with legends like John Cena and The Undertaker, but it was scrapped at the last moment.

The former WWE star gave an interview on For The Love of Wrestling and spoke about how his matches with Cena and Taker were scrapped. Elias stated that the segment he did with Cena at WrestleMania 35 was originally supposed to be a match. The 36-year-old star further added that the same thing happened with his confrontation with the Deadman. 

We were supposed to have a match at Saudi Arabia after that big moment on Monday Night Raw right there. But then through other things… you know, this is how things happen. It ends up being Goldberg, and I never had that match.

The Undertaker delivered a devastating chokeslam to him on the Raw after WrestleMania 35. He stated that the segment was supposed to lead to a match between them at Super ShowDown. However, the idea was cancelled, and Goldberg fought with The Phenom instead. Elias was released from the company in September 2023 and is now working in the independent circuits.
