WWE will complete its merger with the UFC next week. It will be finalized on September 12, under TKO Group Holdings. Endeavor acquired the Stamford-based promotion in April, as announced by Vince McMahon during the WrestleMania weekend. Previously, rumors speculated that they would close the deal by the end of September.

Brandon Thurston of WrestleNomics recently shed light on the merger fast-tracked to next week. Brandon further reported on his X account, “WWE all staff message from CEO Nick Khan says WWE-UFC merger under TKO Group Holdings will be completed next Tuesday, September 12“. As per him, the company will release a statement regarding this.

Furthermore, the upcoming merger may see layoffs of office employees. However, the WWE and UFC will work as completely separate entities. Despite previous speculation by fans, Endeavor made it clear that both companies’ operations would be independent from one another. Moreover, Vince McMahon and Triple H will reprise their official roles as Chairman and CCO, respectively.

Meanwhile, Nick Khan will officially become President while moving on from his previous CEO role. TKO Holdings is a subsidiary of Endeavor, valued at $21 billion. As a result, they may hold 51% ownership, with the rest of 49% going to the WWE. Fans will have to wait and see whether the deal affects the on-screen product of the promotion.

TKO Holdings Group, consisting of WWE and UFC, is finalizing its deal under its parent company, Endeavor. Recently, CM Punk has been making headlines since his controversial release from AEW. As a result, it sparked rumors of his potential return to the Stamford-based promotion.

According to PWInsider, the upcoming merger may play a vital role in the decision to bring the Second City Saint to the WWE. Despite claims of top talent backstage disregarding the idea, the final choice might lie in the hands of Endeavor. Interestingly, the Nick-Aldis-led company has maintained a good relationship with CM Punk.

Therefore, this could lead them to favor his return. Furthermore, with media rights deals still left for negotiations, the idea of a star like Punk on RAW or SmackDown can prove helpful. The self-proclaimed “Best In The World” last appeared for WWE almost a decade ago at the Royal Rumble 2014.
