The Mr. Money in The Bank Austin Theory has always been vocal about idolizing John Cena. The two were meant to clash against each other at Summerslam but the match was sacked at the last moment due to Cena’s tight Hollywood schedule. Cena has not been seen in the ring since then and remains busy with his Hollywood projects till now.
While Theory made an unsuccessful attempt to cash in his Money in the Bank contract at the Clash At The Castle premium live event when he was knocked out by Tyson Fury when he tried to cash in his contract, he is now engaged in a storyline with his former aide Johnny Gargano who recently made an unexpected return to the company.
Austin Theory firmly believes that he’ll gave John Cena at WrestleMania

Many now think, that the dream match between Austin Theory and John Cena has been now pulled off and it is difficult to happen because of different commitments that both superstars are currently engaged in. But theory has a different view point.
The former United States champion is pretty confident that his dream match against John Cena can really happen and that too at the biggest stage of them all, WrestleMania. While speaking to CBS Sports Theory said- “ I am pretty confident, It should happen”.
He then shed a light on the role of John Cena in his childhood days. Mr. Money in The Bank revealed that his childhood was very tough due to his father not being there and he constantly got bullied but John Cena’s matches on television were an escape room for him which allowed him to immerse into the world of wrestling and forget all the tensions behind.
Theory exclaimed – “It’s so weird to meet somebody and pretty much have to explain to them that I modeled my whole life after you,” he also revealed the advice once John Cena gave him and said that Sinha explained that no one in the audience really connects with the performance but it is the personality of the athlete with what the audience or the fans really connect to.
Austin Theory finally said that it’ll be an honour for him with enter the ring with his idol and he would forever remain indebted to it as he explained – “To have that moment with him, somebody who got me to the dance mentally, it takes the words out of my mouth to think about that actually happening.”
