Theory vs. Bobby Lashley for the US title takes place this Saturday

The current United States Champion Theory is all set to make his next title defense come this Sunday at Money in the Bank. This will also mark a consecutive United States Championship defense at a premium-live-event in a long time. His challenger this weekend is none other than the Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley who would love to squeeze out the breath off his body courtesy of his Hurt Lock and the Spear.

Lashley earned his way for a United States title match opportunity last week when he defeated Otis, Chad Gable and Theory in a Gauntlet match chronologically. This Monday on Raw, Lashley was thrown a 2-on-1 handicap match against Otis and Gable with Theory as the special guest referee.

Although Lashley won the match, Theory and company tried to test their waters over The Almighty by unleashing a post-match attack that resulted in their own nightmare as Lashley took out each one of them simultaneously to stand tall in the ring.

Not gonna lie but it is probably the hardest match to make a prediction for on the entire card as for two reasons. First of all, WWE has found themselves in a dilemma of whether to drop the United States Championship off Theory or not cause they’re rumoured to book Cena against Vince McMahon’s protege at Summerslam later next month which would demand a strong momentum driven Theory to put against the 16-time World Champion. Going by this belief, WWE would definitely not their United States Champion to lose his Title match at MITB as it can damage the ongoing momentum of the champ. So in this scenario he will somehow retain his US title against Lashley at any cost.

Looking at the second aspect of the situation of the title picture, if WWE wants Cena vs. Theory in a singles match without any championship being involved in the same, then it is likely that Theory could drop his title to Lashley probably not in the most convincing fashion as it would definitely help in protecting him as a viable threat for Cena moving forward and with this being said the perfect scenario would be Cena costing Theory the United States Championship following some sort of distraction which would enrage him to ignite the feud between them.

This will mark as the start of their rivalry resulting in a match at the Biggest party of the Summer. By going through both the situations, the second one seems more realistic to happen than the first one. Hence our winner prediction for this match would be Bobby Lashley winning the United States Title from Theory as a result of an outside interference by John Cena.
