AEW owner Tony Khan has shown that he’s not privy to firing shots at WWE. After last year’s Tuesday Night War, the billionaire has launched a scathing attack on the Stamford-based promotion again. This time, Tony blatantly pointed out the decision to book Jinder Mahal in a World Heavyweight Championship match on next week’s Raw.
In a series of recent posts on X, the CEO compared the fan backlash received by Hook challenging for the AEW World Title to Mahal’s situation. According to him, there wasn’t enough outrage online in light of the latter scenario. In addition to that, Khan mentioned how The Maharaja’s year-long losing streak didn’t affect the opportunity to receive a shot.

A double standard: @730hook 28-1 career record, on winning streak calls out the Champ, a logical challenge sparks online outrage..... Jinder has literally lost every single match he's in for the past year, immediately gets title shot, where is the rage.Tony Khan (via X)
In another post, he replied to the USA Network’s cheeky remark on Cagematch ratings. The network’s account took a shot at Tony’s inference that the website’s ratings were proof of AEW doing well. Therefore, the 41-year-old claimed that it was a moral victory for them and one more than Jinder Mahal in the past year.
A moral victory for USA is one win more than their World Title challenger Jinder Mahal has in the past 364 days... because it's been literally a full year since he won a match.Tony Khan’s reply to USA Network (via X)
Furthermore, he hilariously asked the network to continue getting the former WWE Champion on its show. The executive was clearly frustrated with the double standards shown by fans online. Despite that, many believe that Tony shouldn’t have vented his anger in the way that he did. It will be interesting to see what lies ahead in the rivalry between the two wrestling companies.
Jinder Mahal responds to Tony Khan’s comments on him receiving a World Title shot
The wrestling community is currently buzzing at the moment. Tony Khan’s scathing attack online has fans commenting with different opinions. However, Jinder Mahal replied to the post after being ‘targeted’ by the AEW owner for receiving a World Title shot.

In a now-deleted post on X, The Modern Day Maharaja sarcastically asked who Hook was. This was obviously a jab at Tony, comparing the AEW star’s situation with Mahal’s. Evidently, the latter found it disrespectful and responded as such.

On Saturday’s Collision episode, the FTW Champion challenged Samoa Joe for the AEW World Title. As a result, some fans were puzzled by this. Meanwhile, Jinder interrupted Seth Rollins on this week’s Raw and had a back-and-forth with him. After the segment, WWE announced that the pair would clash for the title on next week’s episode.
