For the first time ever in WWE history, Raw is going to off cable television. In January 2025, Monday Night Raw is all set to move to Netflix. It is a huge turn of events for WWE, which can be a trajectory move in future programming. Recently, Triple H expressed his views on this mega deal by sharing a broad opinion related to the future.
Speaking on the Impaulsive podcast, The Game stated that it would be odd if Netflix would be alright with just Raw. He added that it is highly possible that they show their interest in SmackDown as well down the line. Therefore, it would be odd if the deal were limited to weekly shows only. Triple H showed a belief that in the future, the PLEs might also find their place on Netflix after the Peacock deal expires.
I think, at the end of the day, it would seem odd to me for them to say, 'We want Raw, that's it. We're good.' That doesn't seem to be how they do business. I think at some point down the road, when SmackDown comes up, is that something of interest to them? Down the road, when the PLEs come up on Peacock, that's probably something of interest to them.Triple H on Impaulsive
In January this year, WWE cracked the deal for the broadcasting rights, moving to Monday Night Raw on Netflix. It was a huge move in sports entertainment, as it is going to be the first time the streaming platform is going to have a weekly sports show as well. Currently, WWE PLEs are on Peacock, where they have been streamed for years now.
Furthermore, with the absence of Vince McMahon on the scene, WWE has full freedom to change its programming accordingly. Netflix CCO Bela Bajaria claimed that McMahon is gone, which added another layer to the deal. It is going to be interesting to see how many changes there are going to be in the future with the programming.
Triple H revealed the reason why he doesn’t want a few stars in WWE
WWE has been on a roll. Stacked PLEs, sold-out shows, a satisfied fanbase—WWE has been achieving everything. Now, it feels like every star in professional wrestling looks to side with the Stamford-based promotion. However, Triple H shared his views on the kind of talent he doesn’t want to work with.
Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, The Game stated that he doesn’t like those kinds of wrestlers who are looking for a lighter schedule and an easy job. He stated that if they are not here to work hard, he doesn’t want them here anyway. It was a straight-up remark on the kind of talent the Chief Content Officer of WWE has been looking for.
If they are not here to be all in on this…when I see people coming out of trying to make it, and then they pick a job where, well, they work less, the schedule is lighter, then I’m like, ‘I’m glad I didn’t pick you.’ If you’re not in it for the grind, at that point early in your career, you have no business being here.Triple H on The Pat McAfee Show
Triple H has been paying a number of visits to different interviews lately. Recently, he went sneaker shopping as well. WrestleMania XL is going to be the first Mania with the Game under full control. Fans are excited to see the event unfold.
