In an unprecedented high on Raw this week, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance defeated Chelsea Green and Piper Niven to become the new Women’s Tag Team Champions. It was a sight to behold for the WWE Universe in Des Moines, and they erupted in rhapsody. To add to the adulation of the brand-new champions, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Triple H, has sent an encouraging message to them.

Taking it to his X account, Triple H iterated that the party was just getting started, tagging Carter and Chance. Both women posed with The Game in an epic backstage snap. Ever since getting called up to the main roster, the former NXT Tag Team Champions haven’t had smooth sailing. The fun-inducing duo was almost lost in the shuffle until Triple H decided to bank on them, and the rest is history.

Beating Chelsea and Piper in such a resounding fashion as they did on Raw could only be perceived as a statement to the rest of the locker room. Following their historic triumph, Kayden and Katana were greeted by Kofi Kingston, who dressed up as Santa Claus. Kofi asked them what they would like to have as their Christmas gift. Basking in the euphoria of their career-altering win, the champions implied that they’d gotten whatever they wanted.

Catching up with other women, the Women’s Tag Team Champions were congratulated by Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell as the four of them decided to hang out and party. However, the teams of Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark and Natalya & Tegan Nox didn’t seem too elated. Instead, they vowed to compete for the gold.

Could Triple H augment fan interest in the Women’s Tag Team division?

Since its inception, the Women’s Tag Team titles have not been treated rightfully. Under Vince McMahon‘s creative reign, that pair of championships was nothing more than an afterthought.

There has not been a memorable title run ever since Sasha Banks, now Mercedes Mone, and Bayley lost it in the first place. Numerous teams tried to follow suit but failed miserably. The former title holders Chelsea Green and Piper Niven were a duo that was assembled on the fly.

Once Sonya Deville got injured, WWE replaced her with Niven. Now that their title reign is over, it’s up to Katana Chance and Kayden Carter to up the ante and restore some glitter to the so-called cursed titles. Triple H and his creative team would have to put in some extra effort to make it work.
