“He’s got bad habits”: Triple H speaks about Independent wrestlers in NXT

Triple H recently spoke about why WWE prefers untrained athletes over independent wrestlers

Triple H has achieved severed things in life. From being a multiple champion holder to building an entire new Wrestling Show from scratch, Triple H has done it all. Triple H is credited with the success of NXT. The former boss of NXT has been meticulously working behind the scenes , from recruiting new talent to ideating new storylines, Triple H has made the NXT the success it is today.

What did Triple H say about Independent Wrestlers?

Triple H, the former boss of NXT has claimed that independent wrestlers that WWE has hired in their history have brought a lot of bad in-rings habits with them that were dangerous for the company. The Hall of Famer added this was part of the reason why the company has now started signing untrained college athletes instead of independent wrestlers

Triple H recently appeared for an interview with Chris of ‘The Athletic’ where he discussed WWE’s past, its future, and the developmental still growing show called the NXT 2.0. In that interview he spoke specifically about why the company shifted its approach to hiring talent that was trained in the WWE’s Performance Centre : “The tryouts we did before, where there were a lot of athletes and experienced indie guys, I don’t think there’s any less of a ‘That’s a rock star’. The indie stuff, half of it is, ‘He’s a good in-ring performer, but the rest is a mystery. He’s got bad habits I have to get him out of.’ This is almost cleaner. It’s a blank slate.”

What does Triple H have to say about AEW?

During the same interview, Triple H also said that the formation and running of AEW is good for everyone as it promotes competition: “As long as there aren’t things hurting the business overall, I think any of that stuff is good. If you’re a 6-year-old kid, you turn on the TV, wrestling is on and you like it. Now you’re caught up in it. Then you start sampling all of it. You get to where you’re a huge fan. That’s the money.”

The former WWE champion, Triple H recently announced his retirement due to medical reasons and we wish him all the best for all his future endeavours.
