Jade Cargill praises AEW for putting her on the map ahead of her WWE debut
Former AEW star Jade Cargill received a massive push as a singles star during her time with the Jacksonville-based promotion. The company quickly incorporated the 31-year-old into storylines with top AEW stars like Cody Rhodes at the time of her debut. Recently, Cargill opened up about how AEW was instrumental in preparing her for the bigger leagues.
Speaking to People via Fightful Select, Big Jade stated that starting her wrestling career in AEW was a blessing. She said, “I feel like I’m walking into a new light, AEW prepared me. It prepared me to have thick and tough skin. If I would have been a part of such a machine like WWE at a younger age, I would have probably been in my head so much, but because I’ve worn several hats in this life and I’ve already been thrown in the fire, so it’s just prepared me for these moments.”
Cargill, 31, credits AEW for preparing her to handle the larger stage of WWE. She believes she would have been unprepared earlier in her career but feels ready now after gaining experience in AEW.
