Trish Stratus has pointed out a moment in WWE that became a tipping point for female wrestlers. The Former WWE women’s Champion and hall of famer has given her Opinion on the opportunities that female wrestlers have had over the years. Trish Stratus has been regarded as one of the greatest and performers in WWE, and her acclaimed career is a proof of it.
Trish Stratus has also been one of the most popular female wrestlers of all time. Stratus’ in-ring abilities, her involvement in some interesting Storylines strengthen her popularity. In addition to being dubbed as the “Diva of the decade”, she also earned the title of “WWE Babe of the year” three times. Trish retired in 2006 from wrestling after setting a record for most reigns (7 times) as WWE Women’s Champion.
Trish Stratus gives her opinion on turning point for female wrestlers in WWE
In addition to being the most successful Women’s Champion, Trish also happens to be one of women to have won the Hardcore Championship and also discussed the hardcore moment that she and Victoria gave birth to.
Recently, Trish Stratus appeared on the “Busted open radio” podcast where she noted a point in her career, which became a breaking point for female wrestlers and which paved the way and influenced the development in Women’s Wrestling.
Trish said,
“Someone talked about the chair shot that Victoria and I did and it was like the chair shot like one simple chair shot and there were meetings about it, there were people discussing. I feel like that was the deal, we were kind of turning the corner.”
Trish cited her feud with WWE Hall of Famer Victoria and the chair shot segment she did with her in 2002, which also happened to be the first woman to woman chair shot in WWE. The Victoria vs Trish feud in 2002 one of the most intriguing women’s feuds in WWE. Even in comparison to the current ones, their matches would stand out.
After Trish stratus retirement she has been appearing sporadically in WWE. Stratus’ last appearance in WWE was in 2019, when she was challenged by Charlotte Flair for a bout at SummerSlam 2019, where she was defeated by Flair.
