The main event of the latest episode of Raw had an intriguing one-week buildup. Seth Rollins defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Jinder Mahal, who has been at the center of attention since the start of the year. In a rather underwhelming match, The Visionary retained his title against The Modern Day Maharaja. Therefore, fans online voiced their disappointment.

Throughout the episode, WWE played several backstage segments and video packages to hype the main event of the show. Rollins subtly took a shot at the online criticism of his opponent, claiming he was a worthy contender for the World Title. Furthermore, the former WWE Champion called himself the “most talked about” person of 2024. All in all, the build surrounding the match looked PLE-worthy.

Before the bout, Jinder Mahal came out, accompanied by Indus Sher, who posed a threat to Seth Rollins’ reign. After a while, Damian Priest showed up at ringside with his Money In The Bank briefcase, teasing a cash-in. However, he would soon be attacked by Drew McIntyre, subsequently taking the scenario out of the picture. Without a doubt, the most intriguing part was when The Maharaja hit the champion with the ‘Khallas’ for a close, near fall.

At the end, Rollins fought back and picked up the win to close the show. The Visionary is most likely to enter WrestleMania 40 as the reigning World Heavyweight Champion. It will be interesting to see whether the Royal Rumble match winner chooses to face him at the Showcase of Immortals.

Fans express their disappointment online after Seth Rollins successfully defends his World Title on Raw

Seth Rollins has been the World Heavyweight Champion for 234+ days. Throughout his reign, The Visionary has squared off against top stars such as Drew McIntyre, Finn Balor, and Shinsuke Nakamura. However, fans don’t appreciate the way the former Shield member has easily beaten his opponents. This continued on Monday Night Raw, when he defeated Jinder Mahal in the main event.

The WWE Universe was quick to point out how Rollins has achieved “superhuman” powers in his title run. Despite having a back injury, the 37-year-old somehow manages to fight back and retain the gold. Some fans compared it to John Cena‘s run as the ‘face’ of the WWE, where he would rarely lose on television, gaining a polarizing reputation for almost a decade.

Many fans claimed that Rollins’ title defenses have become repetitive, with him winning with a single ‘Curb Stomp’. Meanwhile, a few were actually disappointed that WWE didn’t pull the trigger on Jinder. Also, a fan recognized that the hype was created to compete head-to-head with the football playoffs.

The most intriguing comment was from a member of the WWE Universe who lashed out at the ‘overbooking’ of Seth Rollins. The fan was frustrated at how the World Champion fought off a 3-on-1 situation, dodging a cash-in and a briefcase to the head with a finisher. Needless to say, the majority of the audience is perhaps growing tired of this title reign.
