There’s still room for the mending of fences between Seth Rollins and CM Punk. The fans are well-versed in the long-standing gripes the two have shared over the years. It was just over four months ago when The Visionary hurled obscenities at The Best in the World upon his groundbreaking return to WWE at Survivor Series: WarGames. However, as life’s too short to hold grudges, there is something on which the two names are getting along.
As reported by PWTorch, both Punk and Rollins are getting on the same page while planning out their segments. Moreover, the Chicago-based wrestler has continued to accrue all the praise regarding his composure among colleagues and management. Despite initial reluctance, the locker room seems to have embraced Punk’s comeback.
There was a complete train wreck that night when The Second City Saint emerged in Chicago last November. So much so that it even caused a backstage discourse in WWE with reports of a few talent being upset over Punk’s last-minute signing. Recently, Becky Lynch revealed that her husband, Seth Rollins, felt disrespected for being kept in the dark over his arch-rival’s dramatic return.
However, as it stands, it’s water under the bridge. Seth is all about what’s best for business. And Punk seems to have been relishing in his revitalized penchant for WWE. By and large, it’s only going to do wonders for fans in general. As if it needs to be mentioned, the two men at loggerheads were heavily rumored to have a match at WrestleMania XL. However, an uncalled injury relegated The Straight Edge Superstar to the sidelines.
Did CM Punk catch backstage heat for Vince McMahon reference on Raw?
This past week on Raw, the WWE Universe witnessed one of the most entertaining segments play out in recent memory. The hometown hero, CM Punk, was out first. After he confirmed his ‘Mania 40 presence, Drew McIntyre decided to crash the party. Both of them kept verbally jousting for minutes.
A moment came where The Best in the World seemingly caught McIntyre off guard, as the former explicitly referenced Vince McMahon. In the same report by PWTorch as above, the outlet affirmed that Punk didn’t catch any backstage heat for bringing up the former WWE Chairman.
It was so, as he ever-so-adroitly swayed from the topic without mitigating the impact of the “controversial comment” he was looking for. The Voice of the Voiceless traded some heavy blows with Seth Rollins as well. He eventually confirmed his role as a special guest commentator for Rollins’ title defense against Drew at WrestleMania.
