“Stone Cold” Steve Austin is one of the most ginormous names ever heard in the history of professional wrestling. Initially being brought up as a heel and in firm belief to establish him as one of company’s top bad guys, he got inaccessible crowd reactions. Whenever he attempted to gain heat from the audience, they gave nuclear baby-face reactions in return towards Austin.
In due time, he transformed himself as a mega draw. Also, the Texas Rattlesnake is regarded as the cornerstone of the Attitude Era. Witnessing his unreal popularity back in the day, some fellow superstars used to knock his door for some advice. One of such names is the 51-year old WWE veteran, Val Venis.
During a recent conversation with Wrestling Shoot Interviews, Venis claimed that Steve Austin was an unapproachable guy backstage. The former tried to read his mind a few times and was hence willing to take up lessons from Austin. However, the hell-raiser didn’t seemed too passionate for the same and often ended up being defensive for Val Venis.
“I would try to go Austin every once in a while because lets face it that guy had a connection with the fans that was unbelievable and so I tried to pick his brain a few times but Austin always seemed standoffish to me, very defensive. A little bit paranoid I think and I think that made it a little but uncomfortable for me to approach him on a regular basis.”
