JBL is acknowledged as one of the finest WWE heels, and fans consistently appreciate his character work and in-ring abilities. The WWE Hall of Famer’s matches were convincing and never overly slick in terms of cheating, but instead displayed his desperate efforts to win the Championship.
JBL’s tenure as the heel WWE Champion was outstanding, and his rivalry with Eddie Guerrero is hailed as one of the finest in WWE history. After leaving professional wrestling in 2009, the former WWE Champion began commentating and did the job until 2017. After that, he made occasional appearances for the company and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020.
The former WWE Champion has returned to WWE as Baron Corbin’s manager. Baron Corbin hasn’t lost since adopting his old persona and JBL has resumed playing the heel, which is what he does best. The WWE Hall of Famer was well-known for being a bully in real life and had a horrible reputation in the locker room. He is well known to have displayed his heelish traits in the locker room as well. Many wrestlers and commentators have accused JBL of being a bully in the locker room.
Val Venus recently discussed JBL’s reputation as a bully during an interview on the Wrestling Shoot Interviews. He claimed that JBL served as walking entertainment for him and wondered how the former WWE Champion escaped with his job given some of the things he would say.
“I always considered JBL to be a walking home entertainment center. There were times, because he never had a filter, things that would come out of his mouth were incredible. I don’t know how he didn’t get fired for some of the things that would come out of his mouth,”
WWE Hall of Famer says that JBL wasn’t a Locker room bully

Wrestling legend The Godfather, who is known with multiple gimmick changes in the business, worked for the WWE in both the early and late 1990s and left the company in 2002 but has appeared sporadically since then.
His most well-known gimmicks were Papa Shango and The Godfather, and he appears to have spent a lot of time in the business. It is consequently evident that he knew JBL since, as a member of APA and a participant in the ministry of Darkness, the Former WWE Champion was a well-known person in the late 1990s.
The WWE Hall of Famer was defended by The Godfather for being labelled a bully during an appearance on the Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling Podcast this year. He claimed that JBL was not a bully and just adhered to the old locker room standards since he had an old school attitude and the younger, emerging wrestlers today didn’t understand that.
“What he is, is an old-school wrestler…. and he had that mentality. The modern-day kids and people growing up were changing and they didn’t understand that, but he, by no means, was no bully. He just lived by locker room rules that were old-school rules. Those rules are gone now.”
