“One of my favourites hung up his boots at Wrestlemania” – When Bollywood Star Varun Dhawan reacted to Triple H’s in-ring retirement
Varun Dhawan is a massive WWE fan.
WWE is not just a pro-wrestling company, instead it’s an emotion for many of the people who follow it passionately. They get a massive share of their global audience from India. Recently, Wrestlemania 38 created a live viewership record in India having had the grand spectacle being watched by over 56 million people.
Bollywood Star Varun Dhawan is actually one amongst them who has openly expressed his passion and love for WWE on multiple occasions. He is one of the biggest fans of WWE superstar or we can call him the ‘Hollywood’s God’ – Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock. He even imitates his “If you smell………., what The Rock is cookin’ catchphrase very well.
Recently, WWE legend Paul Levesque better known by his ring name Triple H announced his retirement from in-ring competition from WWE after suffering some serious health issues in the past 1 year. As expected, the whole wrestling world reacted upon this groundbreaking revelation and expressed their gratitude towards the incredible work Triple H has done in his legendary career. Superstars including Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Johnny Gargano, Miro, The Miz all thanked ‘The Game’ for all the ever-lasting memories.
Joining in the toast, Varun Dhawan also expressed his feelings about HHH’s retirement announcement as he posted a video of himself talking to him of the time when Hunter visited India back in 2016 for a WWE live event in Delhi. In the video, he was seen telling Triple H that he’s a diehard WWE fan and about the level of craze WWE has in India. He also mentioned how much he (HHH), Austin and Rock meant to him and the WWE.
Here’s the caption he posted on Instagram after Triple H’s retirement –
“Thank you hhh @tripleh @wwe One of my all time favourite wwe superstars hung up his boots at wrestlemania. I was fortunate enough to meet him talk to him about my love of pro wrestling and the rock”.

WWE gets massive fan following from India every year
WWE last visited India for a live show six years ago in 2016. Varun Dhawan served as the guest host for this special event. This megashow was headlined by Triple H and the country’s own Jinder Mahal. Although HHH won the match after hitting Mahal with the pedigree, he showed an awesome gesture after the match when he celebrated alongside The Singh Brothers (Sameer and Sunil) and the Modern Day Maharaja Jinder Mahal by waving on Bhangra (an Indian folk dance form).
The show concluded with this and Triple H walked backstage. WWE has not done even a single live show in India since this event despite the fans’ demand. It remains to be seen when they will return to the incredible nation of India to do a spectacular event.
