Veer Mahaan returned to Raw as a heel after a long wait of 6 months.
Veer Mahaan is indeed one of the biggest Indian talents on the WWE roster currently. Born in a small village of Gopiganj, Uttar Pradesh, “The Million Dollar Arm” guy has walked a long way to reach the position where he is at today. Veer was the first ever Indian to play professional baseball after getting signed to the Pittsburgh Pirates and would later become the subject of the movie “Million Dollar Arm.”
Veer debuted in NXT as Rinku Singh, which is his real name with Saurav Gujjar as a part of the faction named Indus Sher. The two dominated the NXT tag team division after winning a series of squash matches. But Saurav got released in a few months, thus leaving Veer as a singles competitor and disbanding Indus Sher. In November 2021, the company started showing Veer’s repackaged vignettes signaling that he was coming to Monday Night Raw.

Though, Veer’s main roster return kept getting delayed until he finally arrived in April 2022 attacking The Mysterios. Now in a recent interview with The Daily Star, Veer reflected on the exhausting build-up leading to his debut on Monday Night Raw. Veer said that though it was a draining experience, it prepared him to train better and work on his physique.
Veer said- “I’m human as well,” I waited and, at times, it can be frustrating.” But Veer said that the waiting period motivated him to make the biggest impact on his return. Veer added- “That specific time made me a better athlete if I’m honest with you, Since I came to WWE, it has made me a better competitor and athlete and made me more disciplined than I ever was before.”
Veer said he is enjoying his time in WWE, and the company has shaped him to become a better athlete and he has learned to be more economical with the words. “Why do so much when you can get it done with very little?” Veer asked. “If that works, what else do we need? The reaction and support has been great [and] has created a buzz around the world.”
Veer was earlier a part of a trio with Jinder Mahal and Shanky Singh, but the trio broke after Jinder and Shanky were drafted to Smackdown.Since his debut Veer has mainly engaged in a feud with Rey and Dominik Mysterio and has dominated local competitors and cruiserweights in singles action. Veer also faced Mustafa Ali, defeating him to carry his domination streak. Veer fought his last match on June 13, where he successfully defeated Rey Mysterio via submission.
