The most recent episode of RAW marked the last show with Vince McMahon as the majority stakeholder in WWE. However, the ratings saw a significant downfall. Prior to the show, Vince reportedly made several last-minute changes, returning after a spinal surgery. Furthermore, the 1.25 million ratings for the main event turned out to be the lowest in the show’s history.

As per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a major reason for the massive drop was the return of Monday Night Football. Therefore, this resulted in the lowest viewership numbers in the 31-year history of RAW, with 1.35 million views. Another reason has been speculated to be the rumored chaos behind the scenes before the show.

Vince McMahon decided to mark the last episode under majority ownership of his company by providing his input. The lack of advertising on the show was due to him changing the script all day long. Prior to the start, the plan was for Cody Rhodes to kick off the night. However, it ended with Jey Uso and Kevin Owens’ segment kicking off Monday Night Raw.

With Vince McMahon now working under Endeavor, it will be interesting to see if he returns to creative control. Evidently, his interruption with the plans this week didn’t sit well with the audience. Furthermore, Triple H, the current Chief Content Officer (CCO), may have to share his role with his father-in-law in the foreseeable future.

WWE merged with the UFC on September 12 under TKO Group Holdings. The monumental moment led to fans reminiscing about the time when Vince McMahon was close to buying the combat sports promotion. This was around 2000, when the UFC was struggling financially.

While speaking with Big Boy TV, Dana White confirmed this. According to him, Shane McMahon tried his best to convince his father to buy the company at the time. However, Vince passed over the opportunity to purchase one of the biggest MMA promotions of all time.
