Wayde Douglas Bowles popularly known around the world by many as Rocky Johnson was former NWA Television Champion and is the father of WWE Hall Famer Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Rocky Johnson was the first black Georgia Heavyweight Champion and is considered as one of the all time greats in the wrestling business. Vince McMahon signed the legendary wrestler for the World Wrestling Entertainment in 1982. Rocky Johnson would go on to wrestle for Vince McMahon and his company till 1985 before leaving the company.
Pat Patterson is the inaugural WWE Intercontinental Champion in the history of WWE and is considered as a close friend with the former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. Patterson after retiring from wrestling took a role in WWE production working as the creative consultant and producer for a very long period of time. Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson were also seen doing commentary on various occasions during the earlier days.
Rocky Johnson hung up his wrestling boots in 1991 after his time on the independent circuit. After his retirement the legend saw his son take up wrestling and become one of the greatest wrestlers in the world achiving fame and admiration like no had ever did in WWE. In 2020 Rocky Johnson at the age of 75 passed away due to pulmonary embolism at his residence. The death of Rocky Johnson was a huge blow to the wrestling industry and everyone from the industry paid there respects to the great man.

Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson were reportedly drunk at Rocky Johnson’s funeral
A funeral was also arranged by Dwyane Johnson and had invited many of the people from Hollywood and many from the wrestling industry as well. Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson were also in attendance to pay the great man their respects. Acoording to many present at the funeral Vicne McMahon and Patterson were not in a sober state and were seen misbehaving during the whole ceremony. A former wrestler Billy Graham went on to state on facebook that Vince McMahon and Patterson had even bad mouthed Rocky Johnson leaving many in a state of disbelief and shock.
Billy Graham after the ceremony posted a summary of the whole event and showed his disbelief on what had happened :
“Out of nowhere Pat Patterson goes into this rant and called Rocky Johnson a M**********r and started this vulgar rant about how worthless Rocky was and a bunch of guys had to drag Pat Patterson off the church platform,” said Billy Graham.
According to a Youtube channel named Hannibal TV Vince McMahon was also seen talking rudely about Rocky Johnson on stage and an early comment by the preacher of the church about wrestlers seemed to trigger the duo of McMahon and Patterson.
The Former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has had his fair share of controversies over the years which have been fruitful for his business but insulting a man at his funeral is taking it a bit to far.
