There has been great turmoil in the wrestling world ever since WWE was sold to Endeavor. The UFC’s parent company acquired WWE in a whopping billion-dollar deal. Ever since then, the fans have had a premonition regarding Vince McMahon’s status in the company. However, recent reports state that Mr. McMahon won’t have any authoritarian control over the WWE’s product after merging with UFC.
Vince McMahon has been the pioneer of World Wrestling Entertainment for the last 40 years. Back in the summer, he resigned from his position as WWE CEO and Chairman amid the hush money scandal. However, months later, Mr. McMahon made an unfathomable return to the company and presided over the Board of Directors. Not only did he come back, but he also finalized a deal for the Stamford-based promotion.
Despite all the pandemonium, the former WWE CEO continues to hold the majority of shares in WWE. As a result, it gives him the ultimate jurisdiction to make the majority of voting decisions in the company. Therefore, the fans have a foreboding that Vince will continue to dominate decisions even after the merger of the two companies.
However, according to an exclusive report by PW Chronical, Vince McMahon will no longer possess majority voting control over WWE after the merger. McMahon, who has been calling the shots for so long, won’t have much authoritarian power over any entities. Moreover, the report states that the former WWE Chairman will hold around 18% of shares once UFC merges with WWE.
Therefore, the fans believe that it will truly usher in a new era for WWE after the merger. With Triple H at the helm, WWE looks to be in safe hands in terms of creative direction. However, it will be interesting to see how things shape up in the coming time.
Vince McMahon’s influence on WWE’s Creative Control
Ever since Vince McMahon retired last July, Triple H has been solely in charge of WWE’s Creative. However, there have been various traces of McMahon’s influence on WWE backstage in recent times. According to PW Insider, the former WWE Chairman was involved in the creative decisions on Raw after Mania.
The reports state that there has been a tearing up of the script and last-minute changes in Raw, which many suspect to be Vince’s hallmark. Moreover, various sources stated that the backstage morale of the superstars was low following the return of the boss. It appears that Vince McMahon does have some input on the ongoing creative direction of WWE.
