In the fallout from Backlash, Brock Lesnar assaulted Cody Rhodes by putting him through the announcers’ table. The Beast Incarnate also cost The American Nightmare an opportunity to compete for the new World Heavyweight Championship.
The former 10-time WWE Champion was furious because Cody Rhodes had defeated him on Saturday with a surprise roll-up victory. To take revenge for the defeat, Lesnar interrupted Cody during his match for the World Heavyweight Tournament. After the assault, Lesnar challenged Rhodes to a ‘fight’ at Night of Champions.
Monday Night Raw this week saw the arrival of The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes to Jacksonville, and he announced the brackets for the tournament that was supposed to start. The tournament will be held to determine the new World Heavyweight Champion at The Night of Champions in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The brackets for the night were: Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Damian Priest and Cody Rhodes vs. Finn Balor vs. The Miz.
Seth Rollins was victorious in the first bout and went on to defeat the winner of the second match, Finn Balor, in the main event of the show. However, during the second match, Rhodes, who was dominating the match, was blindsided by Brock Lesnar. Lesnar beat Cody Rhodes senselessly and put him through the announcers’ table before laying out a challenge. Lesnar challenged Cody for another fight in Jeddah at The Night of Champions.
Later in the show, Cody Rhodes addressed the attack backstage. While he was unclear about the reason why Brock Lesnar keeps attacking him and stabbing him in the back, he will fight him once more and give his 100% to defeat Lesnar again. The match was later made official as Lesnar takes on Cody Rhodes again at The Night of Champions on May 27th.
Brock Lesnar looks even more terrifying with the scar on his head
The former UFC Champion went through a grueling battle with Cody Rhodes on Saturday at WWE Backlash. While Lesnar dominated the majority of the match, Rhodes was able to get the upper hand at one point. Brock Lesnar accidentally crashed head-first into an exposed turnbuckle, and this busted him open. The wound immediately started bleeding heavily, and soon the blood was all over Lesnar’s face.
After a point, Lesnar was covered in blood but still refused to quit. Cody Rhodes hit multiple Cross-Rhodes before scoring a victory with a surprise roll-up. Lesnar then showed up on Monday Night Raw and attacked Rhodes, costing him a shot in the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament.
Brock had a huge scar on the temple region of his head, which was joined together by stitches. The sight of Lesnar with a scar as prominent as this one was ghastly. Lesnar definitely looked more intimidating than before with an injury of this sort. This segment of Raw left fans stunned and thrilled for their next match.
