The Scottish Warrior made history this week on Raw. The road to WrestleMania has been unpredictable, as another huge record was broken this week. In the opening segment of Raw, Drew McIntyre became the only superstar to pin Cody Rhodes after Roman Reigns ever since his return in 2022.
The American Nightmare was on the verge of closing the match with a Cross Rhodes. However, the glimpses of WrestleMania 39 reminded him of the Bloodline. Solo Sikoa came from behind and delivered a devastating Samoan Spike to Rhodes. It led to McIntyre getting an opportunity for a Claymore and eventually pinning the Royal Rumble winner for the second time after his return in 2022.
Moreover, this was a huge loss for the American Nightmare heading to WrestleMania. It made it very clear to him that Bloodline is watching over him to make sure he walks out of WrestleMania as a loser. Besides, Drew McIntyre has solidified his chances of winning at the Elimination Chamber this week.
This angle has potentiated the Scottish Warrior as a great threat on the road to WrestleMania. After this historic win, it is clear that WWE has some huge plans for the star heading forward. Furthermore, for the American Nightmare, it looks like things are not going to be easy for him in this war to claim the kingdom against the Bloodline.
What’s next for Cody Rhodes after this huge loss on Raw?
This week marked the first time Cody Rhodes was pinned after last year’s WrestleMania. It was a huge loss and will certainly make an impact on the road to WrestleMania. However, many possibilities can be opened from here on out for the American Nightmare against the Bloodline.
At WrestleMania, the Royal Rumble winner, Rhodes will take on Roman Reigns. It is the biggest match of his career. Therefore, it is highly likely that the American Nightmare might assemble a team of certain superstars to even the odds against the Bloodline. Stars like Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, and Kevin Owens might join the team with Cody. It makes sense, as these stars had problems with the Tribal Chief in the past in the Bloodline Saga.
Moreover, Seth Rollins has already pledged his loyalty to the American Nightmare. In essence, this team needs to be assembled expeditiously on Raw by Rhodes. The Bloodline has already vowed to take down the Royal Rumble winner on this road to WrestleMania. It is going to be interesting to see where the future of the superstar is headed from here on out.
