Chad Gable had one of the biggest matches of his career this week on RAW. He has made a big name for himself on the main roster. It has been a long time since Gable has been praised as the most underrated superstar in WWE right now. After his match against Gunther, Cody Rhodes came in to praise and show love to the Alpha Academy member after his amazing performance.

The American Nightmare made his way to the ring after RAW went off-air. Chad Gable’s daughter shed tears as her father lost the biggest match of his career. Rhodes came in to pick up the fallen Chad Gable and appreciate him for his incredible performance. Moreover, he raised Gable’s hand and showed him tremendous respect.

Chad Gable had an incredible match with Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship. The match had its share of close falls and incredible reversals. It was one of the best matches of Gable’s career in WWE, highly appreciated by the WWE Universe. WWE hyped this match throughout the show before they clashed in the ring.

After an amazing feud with Gunther, it will be interesting to watch the next step for Gable. On the other hand, Gunther is just a few days away from etching his name on the pages of history. The Ring General will become the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in WWE history on September 7.

Chad Gable vs. Gunther was a dramatic matchup due to the emotions included in the story. However, many fans are wondering why this big match didn’t take place at Payback. Now, a backstage report regarding the reason this match did not take place at Payback is surfacing on the internet.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Payback has many star-studded matches and the card was already stacked up. Along with that, WWE wanted to keep the runtime for Payback short. Furthermore, WWE wanted to give Gable and Gunther the proper spotlight. If this match had taken place at Payback, it would have been overshadowed.

This is also the same reason why WWE decided not to put Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus on the SummerSlam 2023 matchcard. It will be interesting to see if Chad Gable and Gunther again cross paths on the main roster.
