Batista was a dominant force during his time in WWE. He was intimidating and a threat to whoever be the Champion during his time. Batista was signed to WWE in 2000 and was sent to the OVW developmental territory, where he wrestled until 2002. He made his televised WWE debut in 2002, where he appeared as the bodyguard of D-Von Dudley. He would then turn on D-von and begin a feud with him, and defeating him on an edition of SmackDown. Thereafter he was drafted to RAW Brand.

Batista was a powerhouse in-ring performer with charisma and the ability to deliver the finest promos. He possessed a distinct move repertoire, with his spin buster being one of the most distinct and sharp in the wrestling profession. Batista was ranked no. 1 in PWI’s Top 500 list of wrestlers in 2005. During his time in WWE, he has been a 2-time WWE Championship, 4-time World Heavyweight Champion, 3-time World Tag Team Championship and has also won the 2005 and 2014 Royal Rumble.

Batista was a part of the villainous Stable Evolution. When Orton was betrayed by Triple H, there were only three men left in the group including himself, Triple H and Ric Flair. After winning the Royal Rumble in 2005, both Flair and Triple H urged him to challenge the WWE Champion and attempted to implicate Batista in a plan that had him getting ran over by WWE Champion JBL.

“The Animal” became aware of Triple H and Flair’s conspiracy by sneakily eavesdropping on them. He signed the contract and challenged Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 21. At the event Batista defeated Triple H and won his first ever major Championship in WWE.

While speaking with Men’s Health in 2021, Batista had stated that when he first entered the wrestling profession, the atmosphere was quite toxic, and that it is a very competitive sport. He had said that everyone is put in an exhausting circumstance and that he was not at ease. “The Animal” said that during the initial period people didn’t like him and that the company wasn’t interested in him and they didn’t know where he would fit in and what to do with him.

“It was just a very toxic atmosphere; Wrestling is very competitive. It’s very cutthroat. You’re put in a position where you have to posture up all the time, and it’s exhausting. It’s just exhausting. I couldn’t get comfortable, people didn’t like me, I was doing something wrong, the company wasn’t going to do anything with me, they didn’t know what to do with me, they didn’t know where I fit in.”

Batista retired from wrestling in 2019 after facing Triple H at WrestleMania 35. He has a successful movie career and has appeared in many big budget movies.
