John Cena is by far the most popular and widely loved superstar WWE has ever produced. His positive influence on the next generation of kids transcends borders. Recently, a soul-stirring video dating back to 2017 went viral on social media. In the said video, a young fan told the Cenation Leader how the former has abundantly helped his mother defeat cancer.
John Cena once received a special message from his fans in collaboration with Cricket Wireless. One of his young fans, Tyler, relayed a video message to The Cenation Leader. In the video, the fan revealed that his mother’s cancer diagnosis came positive.
The young fan then went on to say how the Cenation Leader helped him throughout that difficult phase. He said, “John Cena’s message helped my family, because I got his wristband that he gave to me. And umm… when my mom was having her six hours surgery, I gave her that wristband, I told her to never give up, and she is now cancer free.”
The young boy stated that John Cena’s “Never Give Up” catchphrase played a pivotal part in his mother’s cancer journey. Before the surgery, Tyler said that he gave his mom the same wristband Cena once gave him at a WWE live event. That proved a blessing for him and his mother, as the latter had successful surgery.
The 46-year-old superstar was moved by Tyler and his mom’s story, appreciating Tyler’s unique perspective on his mother’s recovery. Cena, pleasantly surprised when they walked in to meet him, shared an emotional moment as he hugged the young kid.
John Cena holds the Guinness World Record for most wishes granted through “Make-A-Wish” foundation
Hollywood star and WWE veteran John Cena’s global popularity is off the charts. The Cenation Leader is not just a fan-favorite character in WWE storylines, but he is also a hero-like figure for millions of people, especially young kids, across the world. That said, last year, Cena set a remarkable Guinness World Record for granting the highest number of fans’ wishes.

Back in September 2022, Guinness World Records officially announced that John Cena had forged a new record of granting the maximum number of wishes through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The 46-year-old recently granted his 650th wish, which is the highest for any celebrity.
Speaking of his record-setting feat, Cena said, “If you ever need me for this ever, I don’t care what I’m doing, I will drop what I’m doing and be involved because I think that’s the coolest thing. I just drop everything.” His story with Make-A-Wish dates back to 2002 when he granted his first wish. Now, after more than two decades, the superstar continues to put a smile on people’s faces with his unconditional act of benevolence.
