Matthew McConaughey once surprised Drew McIntyre while appearing during an episode of Raw in 2020
Drew McIntyre is one of the toughest wrestlers on the entire planet today. He’s a 2-time WWE Champion and much of his success with the company came during his second run which started off in 2019 when he returned to WWE as the Scottish Psychopath ganging up with Dolph Ziggler. They soon became the Raw Tag Team Champions before eventually splitting up. McIntyre rose to the main-event status when he won the 2020 Royal Rumble match and earned the right to challenge the champion of his choosing at Wrestlemania 36.
McIntyre picked Brock Lesnar to be his Mania opponent and at the marquee event he finally slayed the Beast after hitting multiple claymore kicks to Lesnar’s skull. McIntyre had a great run with the WWE title over the next few months feuding with various superstars through the summer but the only missing part was the absence of a live audience in the shows as due to the devastating Covid-19 pandemic was looming around everywhere in the world at that time.
McIntyre entered in a grueling program with The Apex Predator Randy Orton around August where he defeated the Viper in their first encounter at Summerslam, they again faced each other at the Clash of the Champions pay per view event but once again McIntyre retained his WWE Championship over Orton following some assist from WWE legends Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Big Show and Christian to whom Orton had given severe pain leading up in the shows to this match.
Finally, Orton defeated McIntyre inside of Hell in a Cell on October 25th and became the new WWE Champion for the 14th time in his long illustrious career.
