The rivalry between AJ Styles and LA Knight has evidently reached its breaking point. Both superstars have been looking to destroy each other for months now. The Phenomenal One got the psychological advantage over The Megastar, as he cost him a title opportunity at Elimination Chamber. Now, Knight speaks on the possibility of facing the Grand Slam Champion at WrestleMania.
The 41-year-old gave an interview on the Gorilla Position and was seemingly disappointed with the situation he was in. Knight revealed that he wasn’t pleased that he wasn’t involved in the title picture anymore. Although he was satisfied with how his 2023 went, one thing that kept irritating him was that he hadn’t won a championship yet.
Knight revealed that there were no plans for him after the Royal Rumble, but the company saw something in him and decided to give him a push. He made his intention clear: he wants to make this year better than last year by winning some championships. The 41-year-old star believes that his potential match with Styles is going to steal the show.
There's got to be a time now where I created one hell of a foundation in 2023, now it's time to go and start creating a legacy and start building the resume where people can say all right, this guy legitimately can make a claim to be one of the best of this era, if not the best.LA Knight via Gorilla Position podcast
They both cost each other the opportunity to fight for the titles by interfering during their pivotal matches. Although it’s not official, the WWE Universe speculates that both Superstars will meet each other at WrestleMania. It will be interesting to see the buildup between them, as the Show of Shows is right around the corner.
LA Knight shares an incident that happened between him and John Cena
LA Knight was one of the most popular stars in WWE in 2023, as he went from nowhere to headlining premium live events. On his rise to the top, he also had a storyline going on with WWE legend John Cena. Knight shared one incident in an interview that happened after their tag team match.
The 41-year-old spoke about what really went down when Cena wanted to raise his hand, but he refused and instead raised his. He revealed on the Gorilla Position podcast that he did that because he wanted to continue his aura as a prick and still wanted to give Cena the respect he deserved.
I wanted to again recall the moment we had at The Miz match when we had a little bit of tension and then he raised the hand. So at the Fastlane, I thought let me be the prickly pair the first time around, and let me still be that the second time around, but at least pay the respects to the guy.LA Knight on John Cena via Gorilla Position
They teamed up together at Fastlane and defeated the team of Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso. After that, they went on their separate ways, where Cena continued his rivalry with Solo while Knight challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed title. Although they both fell short, it was nice to see two of the most beloved superstars team up during that time.
