WWE is set to make a return to India after nearly six years since their last appearance in 2017. The show, named Superstar Spectacle, will be held on September 8, Saturday, in Hyderabad, as officially announced by WWE. But Drew McIntyre is one of those stars who has made this happen, as he promised to bring WWE back to India during his visit to Mumbai last year. On his last visit, McIntyre was interviewed by Sony Sports India on a specially named show, Namaste Drew.
In the interview, Drew McIntyre stated that WWE’s show in India will be his resolution, as his previous wish of bringing WWE to Wales was successful. He stated the reason for it being the passionate fans of India and the willingness to wrestle in front of them. McIntyre also added that he would be willing to see different sports and games, especially cricket, in India. As all of this took place in the interview with Ridhima Pathak, Drew revisited this clip as he shared it on Twitter.
The Scottish Warrior took to Twitter to address the fact that he is indeed the reason for the Superstar Spectacle to be happening in India. He shared a clip of him speaking of the aforementioned things and posted it on Twitter. He added the caption, “India finally gets what it deserves,” and added that he has fulfilled yet another promise. McIntyre concluded by writing, “Hyderabad, I’ll see you soon!” and showing his excitement for the event.
In the interview, he further stated how the warm reception of Indians has made him forget his jetlag. Drew had hilariously stated that he was “gonna harass everybody and make sure they bring a show to India!” While he cited the example of Clash at the Castle as his idea to bring WWE to Wales.
