Hulk Hogan is one of the biggest names in the world of pro wrestling. According to recent reports, WWE had plans for Mustafa Ali to get the Hall of Famer’s iconic theme song at one point. WWE almost finalized to bring “Real American” theme song for him on the main roster. However, it didn’t happen.

Mustafa Ali debuted on the main roster in 2019. Ever since his debut, Ali has been mostly wandering around the roster without a solid storyline. The 205 Live superstar has surely impressed fans with his exceptional in-ring abilities. But he always lacked a solid storyline that would establish him on the roster.

According to Ringside News, Mustafa Ali revealed some interesting things about it in an interview with Wrestle Binge. He said that there were plans at some point for him to get a new character and turn into a politician-like character. Ali said that it would be a very patriotic and America-loving character, who would launch campaigns against the opponents or the title opportunities.

Therefore, to give the character a more American vibe, WWE almost gave him the “Real American” theme song. However, the storyline was scrapped after some time because WWE felt that it would create problems with the network and audience. Ali has been going around the roster on Raw and SmackDown ever since, with no solid purpose or storyline.

His current character has shown some potential recently. Ali portrays a happy and cheerful character who loves to preach positivity. Although it’s a new character, WWE fans hope to see better things in the future for the former cruiserweight. It would definitely have been interesting to see Mustafa Ali come out to Hulk Hogan’s theme.

WWE has recently undergone a seismic shift in management and administration. WWE CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon finally announced his retirement in July 2022. Triple H and Nick Khan have taken over the Stamford-based promotion since then. As the decision-making authorities changed, the methods and styles changed as well.

The company has incorporated several changes since last year that were well received by the fans. WWE also improved in terms of superstars’ bookings and their storylines. The superstars are now portrayed in a more real sense and not in an over-the-top fashion. WWE has also started doing more events internationally, as they have already had three PLEs in Canada, the UK, and Puerto Rico.

Apart from that, they also had a tour in Europe last month. The company achieved much success, both in terms of revenue and fan response. Therefore, all these changes have been beneficial for WWE. Moreover, they have managed to bring in some lapsed fans who stopped watching WWE in the past few years.
