WWE Backlash 2023 to be the first Premium Live Event following WrestleMania 39. The event will be held in Puerto Rico this year on May 6.

The PLE Backlash, which is scheduled for May 6, is already gaining a lot of attention, and a bunch of exciting news is being announced daily. Speaking of which, The Wrestling Blog has teased the appearance of a former American wrestling champion.

A Twitter post by The Wrestling Blog read, “I got a report from one of my sources that says WWE has been in contact with Carlito to make an appearance with his father on the upcoming PPV Backlash May 6 in Puerto Rico.”

Carlito is well known for his wrestling prowess, and hence his addition to the Backlash roster is expected to be huge. It is also believed that he could join a stable and play a managerial role for other wrestlers.

Some sources suggest that Carlito would join WWE to actively participate in the fights and regain his popularity. In a recent interview, Carlito said that he is open to a return if needed. He last fought in WWE on a Raw episode alongside Jeff Hardy against Elias and Jaxson Ryker. Carlito and Jeff Hardy both performed their finishers and won the match by a pinfall.

Superstars reportedly confirmed for WWE Backlash

The Wrestling Blog has confirmed a few wrestlers who will appear for Backlash, such as Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Edge, Becky Lynch, Gunther, and Seth Rollins. Along with these wrestlers, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Charlotte Flair, and Judgment Day are also rumored to be on the match card of Backlash. 

Well, WWE Backlash seems to plan on creating history with their comeback. With the roster being filled with exciting appearances and the event still being disclosed slowly and slowly, it is sure that May 2023 is going to be filled with a lot of excitement. 

After being on hold for a while, it appears that Backlash will become a regular annual Premium Live Event from this year. With Bad Bunny announced as the show’s host, anticipation is already building for the show. It is a show with a long history in the world of WWE since it serves as a sort of PLE “season premiere” after WrestleMania.
