Drew McIntyre was last seen on WWE television at WrestleMania 39. He squared off against Gunther and Sheamus in a triple threat match. There has been various rumors and speculations circulating about him lately. According to recent reports, WWE might have plans for Drew McIntyre for SummerSlam 2023.

The Scottish Warrior performed with an injury at WrestleMania 39. The match was highly acclaimed by fans, critics, and fellow WWE superstars. Despite, McIntyre giving his best, Gunther retained his Intercontinental Championship. Besides, Dave Meltzer awarded 5 stars to the match. The former WWE Champion has been out of action ever since.

According to The Wrestling Blog, Drew McIntyre will return to WWE programming during the road to SummerSlam. It also stated that WWE is planning to have a match for him at the biggest event of the summer. Drew’s contract ends in early 2024, and therefore, the two parties haven’t negotiated a deal yet. Moreover, multiple sources state that McIntyre is likely to explore other options once his contract expires.

Moreover, reports state that it was McIntyre who insisted on working with Sheamus and puts over Gunther in their match at WrestleMania. The Scottish Warrior has been dissatisfied with WWE over his storylines in recent times. Therefore, looking at the current situation, McIntyre might not re-sign a contract.

According to the rumors and speculations, he might not re-sign with the company and move on to explore other options.

There have been rumors about The Scottish Warrior moving to rival company AEW for the biggest event in the company’s history, All In. The pay-per-view will take place in August at Wembley Stadium in London. It will be in McIntyre’s hometown and therefore speculations have been circulating about him showing up for the event.

But the latest reports suggest that McIntyre might not show up at AEW’s All In. The Scottish Warrior’s contract will expire in early 2024, which is months after the event. Therefore, there is no chance that he might show up at WWE’s rival company. In addition to that, McIntyre has been suffering from an injury. Therefore, he might have an extension to his WWE contract because of that.
