Last year, Triple H replaced Vince McMahon as the creative spearhead of WWE in a major overhaul. In the process, The Game rehired some of the superstars whom Vinnie Mac unceremoniously released. Karrion Kross and his wife, Scarlett, were two of them. The couple started hot on the main roster. However, The Doomsday’s presence often met the apathy of the WWE Universe, and his appearances became paltry.

This past Friday night on SmackDown, WWE reportedly planned a segment between Karrion Kross, Scarlett Bordeaux, and Shotzi. However, as per Fightful Select, the plans were dropped at the last moment. The sources close to the situation relayed that the segment was cut because it wouldn’t have made sense.

Karrion Kross’s return on this week’s SmackDown, taped on October 27, just before Crown Jewel, seemed ill-timed. This move, seemingly delayed by Triple H’s team, clashed with the show’s focus on the final build-up to the event in Riyadh.

The King of Kings has been a huge admirer of Kross’ work, especially what the latter accomplished in NXT. Meanwhile, Scarlett and Shotzi received major props from WWE higher-ups for their flawless presentation as the hosts of NXT’s Halloween Havoc. Karrion Kross last appeared on the August 11th edition of SmackDown, where he lost to AJ Styles.

Karrion Kross’ good relations with Triple H led to his WWE return

When Kross and Scarlett returned to WWE last year in August, everyone was excited for the duo to showcase their abilities. They had some serious television presence during the initial phase of their comeback. However, after having such an embarrassing main roster debut on Raw back in 2021 against Jeff Hardy, how did WWE manage to get Karrion back on board? The answer is simple; it’s all because of Triple H.

During an interview with The Sun, the 38-year-old discussed his relationship with The Game and how it led to his WWE return. Kross revealed that even after his release, he and Scarlett were in touch with the WWE CCO. Once he made the offer in front of Kross and Scarlett to return, the couple just couldn’t reject it, and that’s how they got back.

I jumped on a call with Hunter and he proposed the concept of coming back. He said, ‘Would you guys like to come home?’ And we were like, ‘Of course we would’. And then you guys saw us two days later, we were on TV.
