William Regal unveils new NXT titles; historic NXT TakeOver announced

Kai and Gonzalez were the first-ever NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions

WWE had announced that NXT GM William Regal will be making two big announcements during the episode. As rumored, Regal introduced the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Moments after unveiling the titles, he crowned Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez as the first-ever NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions. Kai and Gonzalez were crowned as the Champions, on account of them winning the Women’s Dusty Cup tournament.

The second announcement was a historic one too. For the first time ever, NXT TakeOver will be a two-night affair. Regal announced that NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver will air during the Wrestlemania week on April 7th and 8th.

Moon and Blackheart are the new Champions

As soon as Kai and Gonzalez were crowned as Champions, they found their first challenger. Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart challenged them for the titles and Regal announced the match officially.

The first-ever NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions could not defend their titles, and lost the match. Blackheart and Moon are the current NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions. WWE has hinted that Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell will be going after the title as well. This could lead to a 3-way Tag match for the Championship and NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver.
