WWE planning for a highly-anticipated dream match following recent outburst on social media: Reports
The WWE Universe has been clamoring to have two of the most technically sound wrestlers on the current roster to kick off a rivalry on TV.

Triple H swapping roles with Vince McMahon as the creative lead of WWE has overhauled the modus operandi of the company. The most notable aspect being the openness of the new regime towards its fanbase. Even though Hunter’s known for carding long-term storylines, he makes the pivot if the fans suggest otherwise. This time around, it appears like WWE has acknowledged the hostile reaction to one of the matches from the last weekend.
A few days ago, the company ran Gunther vs. Ilja Dragunov at a live event in the Netherlands. As soon as WWE uploaded some clips from the match, fans went berserk. They argued that a showdown of that magnitude deserves to main event a PLE, or at least needs to be put on television. Taking note of such an emotional outburst on social media, WWE is now planning to run Gunther vs. Dragunov again in the future, per WRKD Wrestling.
Hopefully, this time around, it’d be available worldwide. But before that, take this. Following last night’s SmackDown in Berlin, WWE once again let The Ring General have a go at Dragunov in a dark match. That’s the second time they’ve met in the span of a week. And on both occasions, the reigning World Heavyweight Champion came out on top.
At least the fans who attended the show in Berlin got to see Ilja, a German-born wrestler, perform live. There are many who’re still miffed at the fact that The Mad Dragon is all set to be left off the card at Bash in Berlin. At this juncture, it seems like Ilja will not be added to the premium live event tomorrow. However, he’s surely in for a major rematch with Gunther down the road.
Gunther lined up for litmus test against Randy Orton to cement his WWE standing
In less than 24 hours from now, it’s possibly the biggest test of Gunther’s WWE career. He faces a determined Randy Orton, with the World Heavyweight Championship up for grabs. Having won the gold at this year’s SummerSlam, The Ring General wouldn’t want his reign to be cut short.
Even though the erstwhile Walter will have a home-like ambience at the Uber Arena, he couldn’t count Orton out just yet. Earlier today at the Bash in Berlin Kickoff, The Viper exchanged some barbs with the Imperium boss.
Randy claimed he found out that he has a 70% German ancestry. Orton even told Gunther that he didn’t need to make it personal by mentioning his patriarchs in the feud. However, saying it was a thing of the past, The Apex Predator affirmed he and the Austrian are going to make history at Bash in Berlin.
