WWE is now less than a month away from the return of a classic—the Bad Blood PLE. The match card for the show is expected to start shaping up from this week onwards. Having said so, as per WrestleVotes, the current plan for the main event of the premium live event is to have a Hell in a Cell match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre.
Moreover, it’d be made official by tonight’s Raw in Calgary. Last Monday, Punk made a point that he had finally avenged his SummerSlam loss to Drew at Bash in Berlin. More importantly, The Second City Saint was on cloud nine after salvaging the bracelet from McIntyre that had his family’s name engraved on it. Punk then turned his attention to Gunther, making it clear that he wants a piece of The Ring General and the World Heavyweight Championship.
As he was celebrating with the fans standing atop the commentary table, Punk’s leg got pulled, and he fell flat on his head. Who was the culprit? It was Drew McIntyre in a hoodie. The Scot brutally assaulted CM Punk. Not only that, but Drew even broke Punk’s beloved bracelet into pieces. Backstage, where the WWE officials were trying to get the 45-year-old into the ambulance, McIntyre once again launched himself on the former AEW star.
Quite evidently, the former 2-time WWE Champion was incensed after his humiliating outing in Berlin. Punk spanked Drew with the leather strap to successfully tap all four corners of the ring. They’re now at one match apiece. The decisive chapter of this grueling rivalry is expected to cap off inside the most sadistic structure in sports entertainment. There’s indeed a lot of bad blood involved in it.
Is WWE taking a major title match off Bad Blood?
A few days ago, it was reported that Bron Breakker would defend his Intercontinental Championship at Bad Blood. However, that may have changed of late. Going by Viper Reports, WWE is looking to ‘juice up’ the upcoming weeks of episodic television.
That’d probably leave Bron putting his gold up for grabs in one of the forthcoming editions of Monday Night Raw. His challenger will be determined tonight. The winner of the Fatal 4-Way match featuring Braun Strowman, Ilja Dragunov, Pete Dunne, and Jey Uso is set to be next in line for the Intercontinental title.
Based on last week’s intense confrontation between Jey Uso and Bron Breakker, they’re expected to be the title match as of now. The Steiner descendant had previously commented on Jey’s family saying that there hasn’t been a member of the Anoa’i family to beat up any of the Steiners.
