The 38th edition of the Grandest Stage of them All saw the two women battle each other for the prestigious SmackDown Women’s Championship. The most stupendous two night event in WWE history saw the Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair defeat the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble winner Ronda Rousey in a controversial fashion.
Now, real reason why Charlotte Flair pinned the Baddest Women on the Planet after a bump on referee has been revealed. The reason was to continue the exaggerating rivalry between Flair and Rousey for a few months more. Here’s what Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter said:
“Charlotte Flair beat Ronda Rousey to keep the Smackdown title after a ref bump. The idea is for this to be a long-term program and thus the belief was Flair had to win the first match, even if Flair got the better of Rousey as well in the angles leading up to it. One thing that looks obvious is that Rousey is not going to be over and have the meaning she did when she first came.” – Sportskeeda

Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey are seemingly not done with their rivalry for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. The controversial finish to their match at the 38th edition of the Grandest Stage of them All hinted that Rousey will go after Flair once again after her loss at WrestleMania 38.
