The ongoing road to WrestleMania 41 hasn’t been even close to being at par with last year’s spectacle in terms of piquing fan interest. Among a multitude of reasons is the company’s failure to hand one of its MVPs, Drew McIntyre, a semblance of what he’s going to do at The Show of Shows. Or at least, whatever was pitched to the Scot is deemed farce.
A report from Daily Mail claimed that Damian Priest, the man who eliminated Drew McIntyre from the Royal Rumble match, is currently slated to battle him at WrestleMania. However, that could change now. Per Dr. Chris Featherstone, WWE is cognizant of the online discourse around McIntyre, and they’ve begun re-evaluation.
Drew’s Royal Rumble showing was like a fever dream. It all began with LA Knight inadvertently messing up McIntyre’s spot where he was tossed out by Priest. The Scottish Psychopath was allegedly furious at The Megastar for “trying to get his moves in,” and in turn sabotage the magnitude of Drew’s elimination.
The former WWE Champion stormed out of the building, which was a snowball effect of—both the Knight debacle and Priest being his penciled-in Mania opponent. Nonetheless, as alluded to in the aforementioned report, the company is reconsidering their call for McIntyre which has already faced immense rejection from the WWE Universe.
In the wake of the recent Knight/McIntyre incident, fans believe they could make for an intriguing non-title feud at WrestleMania. A glimpse of what these men bring to the table was on display during SmackDown last Friday. The Megastar referenced Drew’s heat with him in front of the Scot, and it broke the latter for a second.
Were Drew McIntyre and LA Knight legitimately throwing hands at each other on SmackDown?
Drew McIntyre took on LA Knight and Jimmy Uso in a triple threat Elimination Chamber qualifier on SmackDown last week. At one point, The Scottish Warrior casually smacked Knight in the back of his head. It landed right on the money, and LA didn’t take too kindly to it.

In fact, the erstwhile Eli Drake got back to Drew with a heavy right jab of his own. Then, things got ugly between Knight and McIntyre for a few seconds. Seeing the temperatures rise, Jimmy intervened and broke them up.
A report from Fightful Select later confirmed that there were no issues following the match even though things did get rough physically when Drew and Knight were at it. Moreover, the Scottish wrestler was fine with The Megastar’s jibes earlier on.
