Since her departure, Ronda Rousey has made a lot of controversial comments regarding her stint in WWE. Recently, during an interview, she accused current NXT Superstar, Drew Gulak of grabbing her sweatpants backstage. Now, as per the latest update, Gulak has been released from WWE.
According to the latest reports from PWInsider, he, along with several NXT superstars, was axed from the company. After the allegations, authorities immediately removed him from all programs, and even his seat was withdrawn during the Hall of Fame ceremony. As per the storyline, they depicted Tony D’Angelo‘s family “leaving him with the fishes.”
Drew Gulak stated in his response to the allegations that it was just an accident. The Legal Eagle further explained that he was just going to say “Hello” to her, but when he accidentally touched the drawstring of her pants, he apologized for the mishap. Along with the 37-year-old star, Von Vagner was among the notable stars recently released by the Stamford-based company.
Meanwhile, The Baddest Woman on the Planet has been very vocal about her new book since parting ways with WWE. Her new autobiography, ‘Our Fight’, was published on April 4, shedding light on her WWE tenure and the inner conflicts that led to her departure from the company. Only time will tell whether she has more secrets to spill about the Stamford-based company or not.
Vince Russo gave a realistic reason why Ronda Rousey hated her run in WWE
Since her release from WWE, Ronda Rousey has made many negative comments about the company and some top executives, like Bruce Prichard. Many fans assume that he was the reason for her departure. However, WWE veteran Vince Russo expressed a different opinion about the whole situation.
While speaking on The Wrestling Outlaws, Russo said one of the prominent reasons she left was the hectic WWE schedule. He stated that Rousey couldn’t cope with the constant traveling and performing on the house shows, which was completely different from her training regime in MMA.
I think what happened with Ronda was, when she was training for an MMA fight, she was going home every night. She had the same routine every day. She ate meals at the same hours every day. When she signed up with WWE and started going on house shows and on the road, that's a totally different animal.Vince Russo via The Wrestling Outlaws
Although Russo’s explanation makes sense, it could be one of the reasons for her release. The Baddest Woman on the Planet revealed another reason. She stated in many interviews that it was Vince McMahon‘s stubbornness to not give female superstars more freedom to perform.
