In recent weeks, there’s been some turmoil surrounding Monday Night Raw’s historic move to Netflix in January 2025. It’d mark the flagship WWE show’s foray into the streaming platform, ending its three-decade-long stint on linear television. But what’s really peeving the fans is the looming obscurity over the show’s runtime once it starts streaming on Netflix.

As per the Sports Business Journal, WWE hasn’t yet decided on the move, and the two sides are actively working on figuring out the length of the show. Raw just went back to a two-hour program two weeks ago, which hasn’t been the case since 2012. It’ll continue to air between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. EST on the USA Network until the end of this year

WrestleVotes recently noted that Raw is expected to revert back to three hours with its Netflix move. However, as stated above, it’s still up in the air. The first two-hour Raw in over 12 years was a total misfire. Getting rid of that 3rd hour resulted in the show being hasty at points.

On top of that, the repeated commercial breaks completely obliterated the viewer’s experience, which was evident by online backlash. The reigning AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone recently expressed concerns about Raw being two hours. She underscored the time constraints that’d be part and parcel of the show if it continued that way on Netflix.

She was apprehended by the mere thought of how badly it’d affect the women’s division. While it’s expected that Triple H and co. will take notice of what their fanbase says, it’s a bilateral decision at the end of the day that’ll have Netflix higher-ups in the loop as well.

WWE Raw debut on Netflix is a watershed moment for the company

It’s not hard to fathom how big of a deal WWE will make out of Raw’s debut episode on Netflix. In fact, as per Fightful Select, a longtime company employee has relayed the word that the said edition of the red brand will be one of the biggest ones in history from the buzz standpoint.

16-time World Champion John Cena will be there for the grand premiere that’s expected to emanate from the Intuit Dome in California. Also, a certain Final Boss, who’s better known to WWE fans as The Rock, is heavily expected for the show as well.

So much more will go down that night, one that promises to be the dawn of a new era for WWE and their superstars. There’s a palpable excitement about the move among talent let alone the fans.
