REVEALED: Original finish for Randy Orton’s botched match
Orton
Randy Orton is one of the biggest Heels in the entire professional wrestling industry. He has been with the company since 2001 and has been a heel for a major part of his career. Over the two decades with the company – Orton has played some iconic characters like The Viper and the Legend Killer.
While his work in the negative role is immensely loved by the fans, but so does his in-ring prowess. After all his finisher move R-K-O are the three most dangerous letters in the sports entertainment industry. The Viper is also the one of the most successful Superstar in the company. He has won 14 World Championships which is just behind John Cena and Ric Flair’s 16 title reigns.
Randy Orton currently performs on the Tag Team division of Raw. He is teamed up with Riddle and they are jointly known as RK-Bro. On the recent episode of Raw, they collided against The Street Profits. During the match Montez Ford attempted to deliver his iconic Frog Splash – but he ended up landing awkwardly on the Legend Killer!
The match was immediately ended. The strange way the match was concluded led to the speculation that something wasn’t right. As soon as the move was delivered, Orton was pinned by Montez Ford. As per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, this wasn’t the originally planned finish for the match.
Randy Orton and Riddle were supposed to deliver a pair of RKO’s and secure a win, as per the original plans. But after being hit with the Frog Splash, Orton wasn’t able to continue and the spontaneous decision of handing the win to The Street Profits was taken!
Randy Orton is a 14-time World Champion
The Viper is inarguably one of the greatest of all times. While fans have loved him in the RK-Bro storyline, surely they miss the old on-screen villain. After all, Randy Orton’s dominance was on a completely different level when he performed as a singles Superstar – which has been missing in his Tag Team role.
The Legend Killer won his 14th title back in 2020. His reign was quite short and was majorly used to push the then-Champion Drew McIntyre. But considering Orton has showed no signs of slowing down, he could well break the record for most titles in the history of the company in coming times.
