An injury is a nightmare for any athlete. Especially for professional wrestlers who have to show up every week on television. Recently, Dakota Kai suffered an injury and has been sidelined as a result. This week on Raw, WWE finally addressed the situation and revealed that the 36-year-old is going to miss WWE TV for 8–10 weeks.
Unfortunately, Dakota Kai has a history of knee injuries. During Raw this week, Michael Cole divulged to the fans that Kai has suffered a torn meniscus. He further provided more details, stating that the former Women’s Tag Team Champion is set to miss more than two months of her career.
The Kiwi Star was written off of television last week when she was attacked by the newly formed Pure Fusion Collective. She was replaced in her match against Sonya Deville by her teammate, Iyo Sky, later that night. It was reported that she might have sustained a major injury earlier. Therefore, WWE decided to write off Kai from television with the backstage segment.
Moreover, Kai returned to action earlier this year on the road to WrestleMania. Afterward, she was involved in Damage CTRL’s storylines. However, it seems fate was not in her favor. With such sad news, fans wonder when and where the Damage CTRL member will make her return.
Dakota Kai reacts for the first time after WWE announced her injury on Raw
It is certainly a heartbreaking situation for Dakota Kai, as she is all set to undergo surgery to repair her torn meniscus. Obviously, she was not on Raw this week due to the injury. However, the former Women’s Tag Team Champion watched the show closely as she supported her friends in Damage CTRL.
Taking it to Instagram, Kai posted a picture of Kairi Sane and Iyo Sky on her story. It was a screen grab from Raw this week, where Sane was addressing the Pure Fusion Collective. She warned the faction that everything that happened with their friend was going to be avenged sooner than later.
The Kiwi Superstar posted this as a gesture of friendship. She expressed gratitude for her friend standing by her side. With the current situation, it can be concluded that the 36-year-old might return to WWE in November around Survivor Series. In addition to Kai’s injury, Asuka, another Damage CTRL member, has been out of action since May.
