This past Saturday saw the finals of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. India faced South Africa on June 29th, 2024, to be crowned champions of the shortest format in world cricket. It was a highly emotional moment for the Men in Blue, who ended their trophy drought after 11 years. Many of them had several iconic celebrations, including the captain, Rohit Sharma, who seemed to pay tribute to WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair

Ric Flair posted a video on X while tagging the Indian skipper. He captioned the video, saying that the 37-year-old was taking a page out of the wrestling veteran’s playbook. The video featured the entire Indian team waiting for their captain on stage to lift the trophy. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah was also present on stage during the presentation ceremony, holding the World Cup trophy.

As Rohit Sharma walked towards the center of the stage, he bent over slightly and performed the iconic Flair strut walk. The video posted by the 75-year-old also featured his entrance theme playing in the background. The Hitman got on the stage, took the trophy in his hands, and raised it high in the sky, much to the delight of the entire Indian squad.

Shortly after the game, the Indian captain also announced that he would be retiring from T20 International games alongside his long-time friend, Virat Kohli, who contributed heavily in the final. Another member of the Indian team, Ravindra Jadeja, would join them shortly by announcing his retirement from the format on social media the next day.

Switching over to AEW, The Nature Boy said that MJF was a top pick for him as well. It was hard for him to pick out four or five guys, as there was tremendous talent present within both companies at the moment. However, he revealed that he had two favorites, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson, The Young Bucks.

Flair brought up The Young Bucks‘ phenomenal match against Sting and Darby Allin at AEW Revolution. Flair himself had a short interaction with the AEW Tag Team Champions on TV during his short stint in AEW.
