“More nervous for promos than matches”; Ronda Rousey opens up about her fear from cutting promos
Ronda Cutting a promo
Despite her success in the WWE, Ronda Rousey still gets nervous while cutting promos on WWE TV. Much like Brock Lesnar, Rousey has made a career of letting her physicality do the talking. In WWE, however, a superstar’s ability to deliver engaging promos is just as crucial as their in-ring expertise.
The 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble winner admitted to feeling nervous while cutting promos. The Rowdy One noted that these segments get even more challenging because of live TV’s hit or miss element. Speaking on her vlog series Ronda on the Road she said:
“I get more nervous for promos than matches because I have to nail it on the first go,” Rousey said. “I’ve always been a person that communicates better physically than verbally, but I think I got it. They let me say what I want to say, then I got it.”

Wrestlemania Backlash will feature Ronda Rousey against Charlotte Flair
The SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair tapped out to Ronda Rousey’s armbar during Wrestlemania 38 while the referee was unconscious. However, she quickly recovered and hit a vicious big boot for the victory. SmackDown’s April 8 edition featured Ronda Rousey challenging Charlotte to an I Quit match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Charlotte initially refused, but WWE approved the match soon after.
With no pinfalls and no submissions possible at Wrestlemania Backlash, Charlotte Flair will be forced to do what no woman has managed in the WWE, forcing The Rowdy One to quit the match. But the same could be turning for her as well if the Baddest Women on the Planet manages to prove herself as the best and makes Flair scream ‘I Quit’.
