“It’s hard when you’re coming back”: Ronda Rousey reveals why she changed her ring gear
Rousey and Flair
Ronda Rousey made a thunderous return to WWE at the 2022 Royal Rumble. Since then she has been dominating the roster week after week. She went on to win the Women’s Royal Rumble match and challenged Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Two of the biggest Superstars on the rosters collided in the co-main event of Wrestlemania Saturday.
Unfortunately, Rousey’s Wrestlemania record worsened further as she suffered a huge loss at Wrestlemania 38. The Queen managed to pin The Baddest Woman on the Planet to continue her 13th reign as a WWE World Champion. This was back-to-back loss for Rousey at the Showcase of Immortals.
Ronda Rousey had last performed at Wrestlemania, a couple of years ago at the 35th edition. She was a part of the first-ever Women’s Wrestlemania main event, along with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. Rousey had walked in as the Raw Women’s Championship but had gone home empty handed!
Wrestlemania 35 was the last time she had appeared on WWE, before making her return at Royal Rumble earlier this year. Interestingly, her ring gear had significantly changed. She sported longer trousers and covered more of her upper body. In one of her Facebook gaming live streams, she revealed the reason for this change was her pregnancy.
“It’s hard when you’re coming back and being judged directly to how you looked three years ago,” mentioned Rousey who had returned to action just months after giving birth to her baby. But she worked hard and at this year’s Showcase of Immortals, Rousey brought back her old ring gear.
Ronda Rousey will continue performing on Smackdown
The Smackdown Women’s Championship feud between Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey primarily revolved around both the Superstars claiming that they could tap out their opponent. Ronda Rousey managed to do exactly that – but still she failed to capture the Smackdown Women’s Championship.
Considering the controversial end to the match at Mania, the feud between Rousey and Flair is bound to continue in the coming times. But it still isn’t clear whether the feud will continue immediately or at a later stage. On the brighter side, the Baddest Woman on the Planet has confirmed that she will continue to appear on the Blue brand.
