The self proclaimed master strategist Sami Zayn defeated the King of Strong Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura on Friday Night Smackdown before Elimination Chamber 2022 to become a three-time Intercontinental Champion. Not only did it bring him a victory, but it also brought Zayn a potential WrestleMania moment that he has been dreaming of for years.
Sami Zayn tried to celebrate his championship victory on Friday night Smackdown after Elimination Chamber 2022 and claimed that he wanted to be a fighting champion. This led to Zayn giving an open challenge to the roster when Jacka** Forever star Johnny Knoxville came out and challenged Zayn for a match at WrestleMania 38. When Zayn denied, Knoxville doubted if the Intercontinental champion had any ba*** to be a fighting champion when Zayn attacked him a delivered a couple of Helluva kicks to take him out.
Sami Zayn may not get to WrestleMania 38 as the Intercontinental Champion
After his attack on Knoxville, Zayn stormed backstage to Adam Pearce to address his actions on the Hollywood star. But before anything could be made official for later, the rising star, Ricochet came up and asked Zayn if he really wanted to be a fighting champion. Ricochet then challenged Zayn for the Intercontinental Champion which the self proclaimed master strategist once again denied.
This led to Adam Pearce asking Sami Zayn to get ready and announced that Ricochet will challenge Sami Zayn for the WWE Intercontinental Championship on Friday Night Smackdown a week later. This could lead to Ricochet getting a well deserved WrestleMania moment and enter the Grandest Stage of them All as the Intercontinental Champion but it can now be said that Hollywood star Johnny Knoxville will surely find himself in the WrestleMania 38 match card.
