Sami Zayn lost his Intercontinental Championship to Ricochet this week on Friday Night Smackdown
Sami Zayn tried to celebrate his Intercontinental championship victory on Friday Night Smackdown after Elimination Chamber 2022 and claimed that he wanted to be a fighting champion. This led to Zayn giving an open challenge to the roster when Jacka** Forever star Johnny Knoxville came out and challenged Zayn for a match at WrestleMania 38. When Zayn denied, Knoxville doubted if the Intercontinental champion had any ba*** to be a fighting champion when Zayn attacked him a delivered a couple of Helluva kicks to take him out.
This also led to Sami Zayn being challenged by Ricochet for the Intercontinental Championship and the match took place this week. The battle between the two kicked off Friday Night Smackdown and saw the rising star, Ricochet defeat the master strategist and become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion.
But the result could’ve been different if Jacka** Forever star Johnny Knoxville came out in the middle of the match distracting Sami Zayn and allowing Ricochet deliver a hurricanrana to the champion and pin him to win the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his career. This was followed by Zayn furiously heading over to backstage and then asking Knoxville to follow him to WrestleMania in Dallas which clearly meant that the two would be facing each other at WrestleMania 38.
Another huge match has been confirmed for WrestleMania 38 recently

Pat McAfee will face Vince McMahon’s prodigy, Austin Theory in the most stupendous two night event in WWE history, WrestleMania 38.
